Truro Cathedral, The Old School House

Originally built in 1908, the Old School House was principally used to educate the cathedral’s choristers and in its remarkable history, was even used as a refuge during WW2 for junior boys evacuated from St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The school formally closed its doors in 1960 and was then used briefly as corporate office space for the Cornwall Council Unitary Authority, but having been empty for a long period of time it will soon open its doors to the local community.

Thornbridge Hall

Run as a teacher training college, an educational centre and conference centre by Sheffield City Council from 1945, it has been owned privately since 2002 .The extension, designed by architects Chris Gothard Associates, is the first significant building construction to be undertaken for over 100 years. It houses a splendid swimming pool, below-ground gymnasium and beauty rooms. Because of the function of the extension, building contractors Baytree Interiors wanted an internal paint that would be completely moisture permeable resistant and that would not flake or peel.
