How to Paint Plastisol

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. Remove loose and failing material by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush to a sound edge. Feather sound edges with a fine grade abrasive paper.

For any areas with remaining sound paint clean down with Zinsser Universal Degreaser and Cleaner to remove any contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry.

Treat exterior mould with a proprietary mould killer and remover in accordance with manufacturers instructions.

Patch prime all bare areas with chosen finished product, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow a minimum recoat time of 1 hour for AllCoat® Exterior Water-Based Matt, Satin or Gloss and 3 hours for AllCoat® Exterior Solvent-Based Satin in normal drying conditions. Bring forward patch primed areas with AllCoat® Exterior Water-Based Matt, Satin or Gloss or for low temperature AllCoat® Exterior Solvent Based Satin. Prime overall with one full coat of Zinsser AllCoat® Exterior Water-Based Matt, Satin or Gloss or for low temperature AllCoat® Exterior Solvent Based Satin in accordance with manufacturers instructions.

Decorate with two full coats of Zinsser AllCoat® Exterior Water-Based Matt, Satin or Gloss or for low temperature use AllCoat® Exterior Solvent Based Satin in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and drying times.
