When painting lead, it’s essential to use a proper primer to seal the substrate and prevent it from causing harm. Painting unprotected or unpainted lead can lead to deterioration and even exposure to harmful lead particles. By using Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 as a primer, you can effectively seal the surface, creating a secure barrier that prevents the lead from causing damage while providing a strong base for your topcoat.
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. Remove all visible signs of organic growth and treat the interior areas with Zinsser Mould Killer or treat exterior mould with a proprietary mould killer and remover in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Allow to dry.
Note: Prepare surface in accordance with HSE guidelines.
Prime overall with one full coat of Bulls Eye® 1-2-3 in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow a minimum drying time of 1 hour in normal drying conditions.
For interior projects decorate with two full coats of PermaWhite® in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow a minimum of two hours drying time between coats. For exterior projects decorate with two full coats of AllCoat® Exterior in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow a minimum of one hour drying time between coats.
