Petroc Brannams Campus Given a Fresh New Look

Following a site visit from one of Zinsser’s expert representatives, Zinsser AllCoat® Exterior Satin water-based was specified for the job. AllCoat Exterior® is an all-surface paint, designed for the long-term decoration of almost any exterior surface, and is guaranteed to stay bright and beautiful for up to 15 years, making it ideal for large scale refurbishments that need to stand the test of time.

Why AllCoat Exterior was the best product for the job

• This clever paint is self-priming and will bond to existing glossy paints without sanding. The first coat primes and seals the surface, while the topcoat completes the sealing process and provides additional moisture resistance and protection. Zinsser AllCoat® Exterior is also recoatable in 1 hour, saving customers both time and money on a job.
• The tough finish is resistant to rain and severe weather and offers excellent colour retention, in addition the paint contains a biocide to protect the dried coating against fungal degradation for up to eight years.
• Zinsser AllCoat® Exterior paint is available in white, black and a selection of bases that can be tinted to any BS4800, RAL and NCS colours. The college opted for their paint to be tinted to RAL 7047 Telegrey for the main body of the buildings, and RAL 5017 Traffic Blue for the trim.

What was required

As cladding on the building was sound, minimal prep was needed. The surface to be painted was cleaned with Zinsser Universal Degreaser. Loose or failing areas were scraped back and patched primed with Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 Plus, and rusted areas were abraded and primed with Blackfriar Anti-Rust Primer.
