A CARPET warehouse on a prime location near Newbury Racecourse which was left looking faded after years of weather damage, has been transformed to its former glory after a decorating firm was able to perfectly match its original colour.The CMS Downs carpet, flooring and bedding factory store in Newbury, Berkshire, is now back to its bright sky blue hue thanks to family decorating firm, Fegan’s Commercial Group which used Zinsser paint’s colour matching technology to source the exact shade required and apply to a batch of its AllCoat Exterior paint.
In total more than 135 litres of AllCoat Exterior was used during the job, which took a week to complete and involved completely repainting the outside of the weathered plastisol cladded warehouse, with the majority applied using a spray rig and smaller areas using a roller.
AllCoat Exterior can be used on any exterior substrate, including wood, metal, masonry, plastic, concrete and cladding, forming a vapour-permeable, low maintenance, water-shedding coating which is recoatable within one hour, making it ideal for the job.

It can also be tinted to any RAL, BS or NCS shade, with more than 50 paint merchants across the country equipped with Zinsser Colour Shop Tinting Machines, allowing them to mix whatever colour is required. Fegan’s selected RAL 5015 Sky Blue for the Newbury warehouse.
Harry Fegan, who runs Fegan’s Commercial Group with his father Tony, said: “The building is in quite a prominent location in Newbury and is seen by a lot of people coming into and out of the town. After being exposed to the elements for many years it was in real need of a repaint and because a specific colour was needed we knew AllCoat would be perfect – we were able to get samples made up in six different shades then share those with the client to find out which they liked best before getting the full batch made up.“AllCoat Exterior is perfect for a job like this because it covers so well – it will stick to pretty much any exterior surface without the need to pre-prepare which saved us so much time.Zinsser business development manager Daren Rothwell worked with Fegan’s Commercial Group to provide the AllCoat Exterior required and to ensure it was tinted to the correct colour.
